Connecting External Domains

BWR recommends that Clubs & Districts who have registered domains with other vendors (such as Namecheap or GoDaddy) transfer those domains to BWR to ensure continuity and avoid unexpected loss or expiration in the future. Clubs & districts utilizing services like Squarespace or Wix are still eligible to participate in Google Workspace, and can connect their domains by completing some additional steps outlined below.

Instructions for Wix

1. Find your DNS records

Open Wix and sign in with the account you used to buy your domain.

Next to your club/district's domain, click the 3 dots and select Manage DNS records.

Note: You may get a message warning you about editing or deleting your domain’s default A or CNAME records. Click "Got It"

2. Add the TXT verification code

Scroll to TXT (Text) and click Add record.

Paste the TXT verification code into the Value field.

To obtain a TXT verification code, contact a member of the Digital Services Team. The code will be unique for your specific website.

Leave the TTL field set to 1 hour

Click Save

3. Add MX Records

Wix makes this part pretty easy:

Scroll to MX (Mail exchange)

  • If you have no existing MX records, click connect a business email.

  • If you have existing MX records, click Edit MX records.

Select Google Workspace from the list of email providers.

Click the Save button.

Your new MX records will soon be visible to other computers on the internet.
